Hey, guys!

Do you like taking photographs? The City of Mission Viejo, just unveiled the very first Orange County artwork viewable by car, “The Parkway Gallery.”  Since July, Crown Valley Parkway, has 16 pilasters in the median islands.  Each exhibit display is changeable, and the city intends to display new work every 3-4 months.

The first exhibit will remain until October.  The next group of artwork’s theme is “The Spirit of Thankfulness and Caring.”  The city is encouraging the residents to “capture” (photograph) what they think encompasses the theme, and submit.  If selected, your photo will remain during the holiday months.  (Nov-Jan.)  Imagine everyone seeing it as they travel down Crown Valley!  There is no limit on how many times you can enter!  DEADLINE OCT. 1ST!

This is just another reason why it’s neat to live in Mission Viejo.  Again, they deserve to be thanked on e-compliments.  Click the blue “e” icon for the city’s profile, and tell them good job!  CLICK HERE FOR CITY WEBSITE (more info/printable flyer/waiver)

Hi, guys!

So check it out, one of my blogger friends, Suz Broughton, recently blogged, today is International BACON Day! (outside of Farmers, who knew this existed?  It’s not on my calendar!)  Anyway, I was one of the first to respond on her blog and say “ew, gross!” and it reminded me of our trip to Oggi’s for our 6th wedding anniversary.  Hey, don’t you judge!  It’s a little difficult to pay for a sitter when both hubby/wife are unemployed.  So, with kids in tow, we had to find a kid friendly place vs. romantic.  Thus, we chose our favorite “gourmet” Pizza place.  Where we can order a beer sampler and try a new style of pizza.

Since I’m not a fan of tomato sauce/paste, we are forever considering alternatives.  With that being said we tried the:

TRIATHALON (CHICKEN CLUB)
Per-$8.99 Med-$18.50 Lg-$22.50
Brushed with garlic olive oil sauce, chicken breast, crispy bacon, topped with chopped iceberg lettuce, sliced avocado, fresh chopped tomatoes and drizzled with our ranch dressing.

This was basically a BLT ontop of pizza!  It looked very, very fattening upon delivery and just an outrageous amount of food!  However, it was just like having salad with your pizza, except it was ON your pizza…or you were having a sandwich w/your pizza.  Either way, it was pretty decent, but I forgot to have them remove the bacon.  I think bacon just tends to overpower too many other flavors.  However, I know there are some of you that just love bacon…like Suz’s husband!

So, Suz…as mentioned on your blog, here’s a photo of that pizza.  I don’t know if it’s OC Daily photo   material, but you get the idea!

DSCN6325By the way, we love the Oggi’s, in Mission Viejo.  You may want to check out a location near you!  They are all over Southern CA and AZ.  Here are the ones in Orange County:

  • Mission Viejo
  • Orange
  • Huntington Beach
  • Garden Grove
  • Tustin

Each of the locations are listed on e-compliments, so if you feel compelled, you should give a compliment!  They have an opportunity to win best in class!

Hey guys!

As originally intended, I’m beginning to refocus on businesses within the Irvine/South OC areas.  The goal of my blog is to encourage others to support our local businesses and fundraisers.  What better way for me to get the “party” started, by performing interviews and creating articles.  With that being said, we have found (and used) an auto maintenance facility, which I deem very worthy of blogging.  Who doesn’t need a mechanic?  We definitely suggest you stop in and say “hi” to the guys at USA Express Goodyear.   They have excellent customer service.  If you agree, don’t forget to give them a compliment on e-compliments.  (you can click the article and go directly to their profile!)  P.S. THEY ARE HIRING!
